IGS has been named one of five finalists in KPMG's Best British Tech Pioneer competition, a national contest which concluded last week with Cambridge-based 3D holography company, VividQ, taking the top prize.

The competition, organised by KPMG's Emerging Giants practice, saw regional pitching competitions take place across the UK to find outstanding businesses that are doing something truly disruptive in the technology space.

Last week, CEO of IGS David Farquhar travelled to London as one of 16 shortlisted businesses invited to present a three-minute business pitch in front of a judging panel that included Eman Martin-Vignerte from BOSCH, Janet Coyle from London & Partners and Cilia Kanellopoulos from Vodafone Group.

IGS was amongst five businesses to be awarded special recognition for innovative technologies alongside the overall winner, VividQ. The other four highlighted businesses were: Glasgow-based ClinSpec Dx, London-based Perlego Books, Bristol-based Rovco and Oxford-based Navenio.

David commented: "It was a huge privilege to be selected for this competition and amazing to make it through as one of 16 semifinalists from across Britain. I never expected that we would achieve our aim last night and be selected as one of six finalists. I'm delighted that our team continues to get the recognition it deserves for all the hard work we have put in over the last few years."
