How to get to our Crop Research Centre

There are a number of different ways to get to IGS' Crop Research Centre, located in Invergowrie near Dundee, Scotland.

Get directions

By car

Car from Edinburgh Airport (approx. 1h 15mins)

- Follow Glasgow Rd/A8 and Maybury Rd/A902 to A90.
- Continue to M90 and follow to A90. Continue to follow A90 to Dundee Kingsway Roundabout.
- Double-back at the roundabout and exit back on to the A90.
- Leave the A90 at the first exit and then take the second exit at the roundabout, following signs for the James Hutton Institute.
- Proceed through the entrance barrier onto the Hutton site and immediately turn left, following the hedge line down to the IGS carpark.

Car from Glasgow Airport (approx. 1h 35mins)

- Follow signs to M8 and continue on M8 before following signs for Stirling to the M80.
- Stay on the M80 before merging onto the M9.
- Follow the M9 to the Keir Roundabout and take the 2nd exit to the A9 to the Broxden Roundabout.
- Take the 3rd exit onto the M90 following signs for Dundee. Continue to follow A90 to Dundee Kingsway Roundabout.
- Double-back at the roundabout and exit back on to the A90.
- Leave the A90 at the first exit and then take the second exit at the roundabout, following signs for the James Hutton Institute.
- Proceed through the entrance barrier onto the Hutton site and immediately turn left, following the hedge line down to the IGS carpark.

Parking

There is parking next to the IGS Crop Research Centre, as indicated on the map below.

By train

Train from to Invergowrie

- Exit Invergowrie Train Station onto Station Road and turn left (west) to follow Station Road to Errol Road.
- Follow Errol Road to the James Hutton Institute entrance on your right (approximately 1km from station).
- On arrival on site, please follow signs for IGS to access the Crop Research Centre. Please do not report to the Hutton reception.

On your arrival please contact your host who will collect you and go directly to the IGS site. Please do not report to the Hutton reception.

Site facilities

There are toilet facilities at the IGS Crop Research Centre, but please note that these are not disabled accessible.
