The event, which this year took place in a virtual environment, hosted a fantastic array of sessions around the theme of “Life Sciences and Healthcare: Key Sectors for Economic Recovery” and featured speakers from academia, business and government across different sessions throughout the day.
Joining an expert panel of industry specialists, David discussed the strengths and opportunities for Scottish Animal Health, Agri-tech and Aquaculture (AAA). This session examined the biggest opportunities for growth including: animal health research and development investment to help contribute to tackling disease; the use of data and how it can drive innovation and emerging technologies; and the opportunity to tackle climate change through net-zero projects within AAA.
Established in 1997, BioDundee is a partnership between the public, private and academic sectors. It aims to promote Dundee as a world-class centre for life science and healthcare activity, as well as build the strength of the sectors in the city and wider Tayside region. It is a region that is of huge importance to IGS, which has based its Crop Research Centre at the James Hutton Institute in Invergowrie, just outside Dundee, since 2015.
